#VTVR The Dark Tower Movie 2017 Review: Thoughts of an actual "Constant Reader" Dark Tower Junky Stephen King Fanatic:

First, I think it is very foolish to criticise any artform or anyone focusing energy to create something new..

Unfortunetly, I am a Noob having  just jumped on the "Constant Reader" bandwagon when the paperback "Misery" came out.

It's tricky to even put thoughts of the Tower into words , which explains why Stephen King had to delay finishing.

Research can lead you to the complicated, history of the creation of this Episode #9 of the Dark Tower series.

Forget the movie exists until you read the series or most of the film will go over your head.

The first half was an  incredible masterpiece of storytelling braiding the maps of midworld, our world, and the Tower.

Starting the story in Algul Siento brought all my ideas and dreams of the Dark Tower alive instantly and coherently.

Shifting quickly to Keystone Earth's New York grounded the story in reality and helped create authentic character development.

Tom Taylor and Katheryn Winnick demonstrated their amazing skills by crafting authentic human charactors eliciting empathy and concern.

Taylor's portrayal of Jake was perfect and indistinguishible from the mental picture Stephen King channeled for us in the books.

When Jake finds the North Central Positronic terminal portal in the old house we see straight into Roland's Universe.

Idris Elba realy realy realy realy realy  realy realy realy realy  realy realy realy realy  realy realy nailed it!

Midworld was stunning, with the greatest fantasy created not from extra moons, but the natural beauty of the locations.

Pennywise and other imaginations of the boys in the basement were crashing through the thinnys and into the film.

It was evident that Matthew McConaughey was having the time of his life with his thoughtful interpretation of Walter.

This Stephen King Universe mash up worked well, made sense, and I look forward to the interwebs catalogueing references.

I was a little concerned in seeing Algul Siento so close to the Tower without seeing the Whitelands of Empathica.

I'm sure I saw Susannah, and if you missed Eddie's prominent role, you didn't recognize his Ad Rock accent.

My favorite part was when Jake came upon Roland's old fire, built on the man in black's old fire.
